Judge Bančević was born in 1955. She graduated from the faculty of Law in Novi Sad.

Having graduated from the faculty of Law in Novi Sad, she worked from 1977 until November 1979 as a judicial intern in the Municipal Public Defenders’ Office in Sremska Mitrovica. After she passed the Bar Examination in 1978, she worked as Deputy Municipal Public Defender in Sremska Mitrovica.  

From 1979 until 1987 she worked as judge of the Municipal Court in Sremska Mitrovica, and from 1995 until 31 December 2009 as judge of the District Court in the same city. She was President of the District Court from June 2001 until June 2006. On 1 January 2010 she was elected judge of the Appellate Court in Novi Sad. She is President of the Criminal Department and First Deputy Acting President of this Court.  

Along with her judicial duties, from 2001 she has been engaged simultaneously as a lecturer by the Judges’ Association of Serbia, the Judicial Training Center, OSCE and the Embassy of the United States in the areas of criminal-procedure law, criminal-substantive law, human trafficking and plea bargaining agreements. She is currently a member of the Commission for the Training of Judges and a lecturer at the Judicial Academy.
