Sonja Vidanović

Judge Vidanović was born on 5 May 1959 in Subotica.
She began her studies at the Faculty of Law in Belgrade in 1977 and graduated from the same Faculty in 1981. While studying, she actively participated in sports (volleyball) and was a member of the state representation of Yugoslavia. She passed the Bar Examination on 1 March 1984.
 
From November 1981 she volunteered at the Higher Court in Subotica. On 6 January 1982 she began working as a judicial assistant in the same Court, where she remained until 31 August 1984. From 1 October 1984 until 30 November 1984 she worked in the Communal Labor Organization of Subotica, and served as misdemeanor judge in the Municipal Misdemeanor Body of Subotica from 1 December 1984 until 29 February 1988. She was elected judge of the Municipal Court in Subotica on 1 March 1988. On 23 December 2009 she was appointed Acting President of the Basic Court in Subotica where her duty began on 1 January 2010.

She was a member of the Programmatic Council of the Judicial Academy in Belgrade.

While serving as a judge, she participated in the training of judicial interns and judicial assistants.

She participated at numerous expert conferences organized by the Supreme Court of Serbia, the Judicial Training Center, the Judicial Academy and various non-governmental organizations: seminar on the rights of children, juvenile delinquency and acting against juvenile perpetrators of criminal offenses, organized by the Judicial Training Center in Belgrade in February 2006; training based on the European Union Law on the preparation of the judiciary for the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement, organized by the Legal Forum and the Judicial Training Center in Belgrade in December 2006; seminar on plea bargaining agreements, organized on 23 and 24 February 2010 in Palić by the Judicial Academy, the Republic Public Prosecutors’ Office and the US Justice Department.  

Judge Sonja Vidanović is authorized to act upon requests for information of public importance.
