Judge Tomić was born in Kragujevac where he completed elementary and secondary educations and graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1986.
Having graduated from law school, he worked in the company in charge of road transport of merchandise “Špedicija” as an officer of the service for general and administrative affairs, where he remained until 1 January 1987 when he transferred to the job position of senior expert assistant for second-instance cases in the company “Zastava transport”.
He worked in the Basic Court of Joint Labor in Kragujevac as panel secretary from 16 November 1987 until 31 December 1991, when he transferred to the Municipal Court in Kragujevac. He was elected judge of the District Court in Kragujevac on 1 January 2000 and later became President of this Court.
As a judge of the Municipal Court in Kragujevac he acted in the criminal matter and continued to do the same as judge of the District Court in Kragujevac.
From 1 January 2010 he was a judge of the Appellate Court in Kragujevac, where he performed the duty of Acting Court President. He acted in the criminal matter as President of one of the criminal panels.
He was a member of the High Court Council, is a member of the Presiding Board of the Serbian Association for Criminal-Legal Theory and Practice, and was for a while a member of the Managing Board of the Judges’ Association of Serbia.
He was a member of the Working Group for the Creation of the Analysis of the Work of Courts of General Jurisdiction in the Republic of Serbia and member of the Working Group for the Drafting of the Text of the Working Version of the Book of Court Rules. He also participated in the activities of many other working groups established by the High Court Council. He is currently a member of the Working Group for the Introduction of Position of Court Administrator and a member of the Programmatic Council of the Managing Board of the Judicial Academy.
For the last several years he has been holding exercises for students at the Faculty of Law in Kragujevac in the area of criminal-procedural law.
He participated at numerous seminars and international conferences and is the author of many works in the area of criminal-legal matter.
